I’m Shaun Ashford, a father of 6, photographer, photojournalist and Urban Explorer living in Cardiff, South Wales.

From a young age, I have always been a keen photographer. Taking pictures of almost everything on the £3.99 disposable cameras that used to be highly popular before eventually having my own compact digital camera. As a child, I never thought that I would one day be photographing celebrities, music festivals, major crime scenes and of course our stunning landscapes and cityscapes.

In 2012, I stumbled across a large abandoned home in South Wales. After reporting it to the local council, I wandered inside to see what had happened and soon found myself taking photographs from my phone. In the days that followed, I was quickly addicted to photographing abandoned buildings and very soon purchased my first DSLR camera. Between 2012 and 2017, I photographed more than 1000 derelict buildings across the UK and was regularly featured within the world’s media.

Wanting more, I then began taking photographs of landscapes, selling prints online wherever I could before moving into editorial and breaking news markets. Soon after, I then began offering portraiture photography services to families, large corporations, schools along with amateur and established models.

Between 2020 and 2022, I took a career break to spend time with my family, just venturing out to take photographs of major crime scenes,. Extreme weather and of course the odd abandoned building but now, I’ve returned to working as a full-time photographer offering an even bigger range of services than ever before at prices that won’t break the bank.

Photography has always been, and always will be, more than just a job to me. It’s my biggest passion and my most enjoyable hobby. To be able to put a smile on a persons face because of a photograph that I have taken is priceless.

I will always provide my photography services at an affordable price. Growing up, we didn’t have lots of money but what we did have was thousands of photographs of family members, holidays and those funny candid moments that will be cherished for the rest of my life.
